FSCJ Dance Repertory Company, danceWORKS presents the 21st Annual Spring Dance Concert

Under the direction of Rebecca Levy and Talani Torres, this concert will feature works by the danceWORKS Company.

Rebecca R. Levy is an FSCJ Professor of Dance and Director of the FSCJ Dance Repertory Company, danceWORKS. Ms. Levy is an educator, choreographer and performer who has lived and worked in Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles and Jacksonville. She is founder and artistic director of Jacksonville Dance Theatre, a modern dance company providing choreographic, performance and educational opportunities for dancers living in Jacksonville.  She was founder, and served as co-artistic director of the Los Angeles based B.E. Productions Dance Company for eight seasons. She holds her M.F.A. in Choreography from California Institute of the Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts, and is a registered Certified Yoga Instructor and Power Pilates Certified Pilates Mat I and II Instructor.

Talani Torres is from Miami, Florida, and was founder and artistic director of Miami Children’s Dance Ensemble and co-owner of the Dance Space. She earned her M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her B.A. from Florida International University. She danced professionally with Mia Michaels’ Miami Movement Dance Company. Currently, she is a professor and the director of dance at FSCJ. Torres is co-director of “It Must Have Been Violet Dance Productions,” a collaborative contemporary dance company working with media technologies in North Carolina, Washington and New York.
