Harvest Moon Rising

September 17, 2016@6:30 pm-9:30 pm

Join Timucuan Parks Foundation as we celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th Birthday. Mark Woods, columnist with The Florida Times-Union, will be speaking about his wonderful book, “Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America’s National Parks.” He will also be personally signing the books purchased at the event.

Enjoy a specialty “moon-shine” cocktail, Florida-style cracker cookin’ from the culinary imagination of bb’s restaurant, moon songs from the sounds of Dixie Rodeo, and harvest moon-gazing with the Northeast Florida Astronomical Society.

The evening promises to be a one-of-a-kind event as we gather under the magnificent canopy of the “Broward Oak” at the historic home of Florida’s 19th governor, Napoleon Bonaparte Broward. Enjoy tours of the Broward House and take a walk back into the history of this unique 18th century Victorian home, which is now owned and managed by the National Park Service and is headquarters to the Timucuan Parks Foundation.
