IF NOTHING CHANGES Exhibition Opening

August 27, 2021@6:30 pm-8:30 pm

Free

IF NOTHING CHANGES is one of two MFA thesis shows by Graduate Photography student Marina Sachs. The exhibition features discrete sculptural objects, 77 hand-painted cards, and a series of events unfolding across the four-day installation. In this body of experimental work, Marina questions how notions of addiction are generated and reified in contemporary political-cultural spaces. Sachs’ curation of site-specific events supplants the seeming “nothingness” of the installation through the inclusion of other artists, hybrid dialogues, and participatory experiences. Season 2 of Sachs’ live talk show, SOBER BABY, will premiere in the gallery at 5pm on Friday, August 27.

The opening reception will be held at the Libby Gallery on Friday, August 27 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. RSVP for select in-person events, and virtually participate in the exhibition at linktr.ee/ifnothingchanges
