Indigenous Peoples, Plants & History of NE Florida

This month’s expert from the National Park Service, has a background and education in archaeology and anthropology. He will be presenting a program about the ancient Indigenous Peoples of Northeast Florida and their connection to our environment.

For the presentation, the Ranger will set up a display of replica Timucuan tools and weapons and some actual artifacts (shards of pottery). He plans on discussing some general information about the Timucuan such as, food collection methods, tool making, and shell middens. He will also be speaking about the plants they would have used for food, medicine and ceremonies and rituals.

Adults, $5, children 5 and under free.
