Lakeview Health April Lecture on Neuropsychological Consequences of Addiction

The effects of drug abuse on the brain will be the topic of discussion at Lakeview Health’s monthly lecture series on Friday, April 27. Dr. Michael Herkov, a board-certified neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist, will be leading the lecture focusing on how addiction effects various regions of the brain and the effects it can have on an individual’s cognitive functions. Herkov will look closely at how addiction impacts the neurotransmitter systems of the brain and will focus specifically on how it effects the neuroplasticity of brain development of adolescents. He will look at the specific cognitive functions including executive function, memory, learning and attention.


“Neuropsychological Consequences of Addiction” will be held Friday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lakeview Health’s True North Conference Center at 1900 Corporate Square Boulevard.
