Monterey Pop Festival Documentary

Join Avant Arts and Sun-Ray Cinema for the Monterey International Pop Festival Documentary from 1967 (50th anniversary restoration!), featuring legendary performances by Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, The Who, Ravi Shankar, The Animals, Grateful Dead, Simon & Garfunkel, Lou Rawls, Booker T & The MGs, and so many more! The documentary marks one of the first and most famous concert films. Director D. A. Pennebaker & crew captured the 3-day concert June 16-18 of the Summer of Love, 1967 in Monterey, California, including footage of Hendrix setting his guitar on fire onstage.

Monterey Pop on March 21 will launch the Avant Film Series at Sun-Ray.
