Timucuan Parks Foundation and JaxParks need volunteers to participate in the Friday Mornings in JaxParks, a volunteer project to clean up area parks. On Friday, August 3, volunteers can join the organizations at Castaway Island Preserve at 2885 San Pablo Rd. S. to help with butterfly garden maintenance and shoreline litter pickup. Volunteers should meet in the picnic area behind the education building. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, sunglasses and water. Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or scout leader during the project. Volunteers are eligible for community service hours.
