SUMMARY:Florida Chamber Music Project presents Walker\, Schubert
DESCRIPTION:Florida Chamber Music Project (FCMP) will begin its thirteenth season with a bang on Sept. 7 performing works by George Walker and Franz Schubert. This concert is generously sponsored by Doug and Karen Worth. \n“Despite the differences in era and musical language\, both George Walker’s String Quartet No. 1: Lyric and Franz Schubert’s String Quartet in G Major\, D. 887 share an emphasis on lyrical expression\, harmonic complexity\, and thematic development\,” says Susan Pardue\, FCMP’s artistic director. “Both works reflect the emotional depth and intimate dialogue between the instruments\, showing that the essence of the string quartet—whether in the early 19th century or the mid-20th century—can be a powerful medium for expressing profound human emotions.” \nTickets are available now on FCMP’s website or at the door. The concert will be held at the Beaches Museum Chapel and Museum at 505 Beach Blvd.\, Jacksonville Beach. Beaches Museum Chapel is wheelchair-accessible\, and all attendees are invited to join the artists for refreshments following each concert. \nThe Florida Chamber Music Project\, founded by violist Susan Pardue\, aims to foster joy\, connection\, and education in our community through live classical chamber music. Pardue is regularly joined by fellow Jacksonville Symphony musicians Patrice Evans (violin)\, Ann Hertler (violin)\, Laurie Casseday (cello)\, Victoria Stjerna (violin)\, and Igor Khukhua (violin) as well as frequent special guests of remarkable talent.
