Oct. 23 – 31
“It’s as wicked as you wish” at the 33rd annual Spooktacular at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, presented by Aquafina. This beloved, enchanting Halloween celebration happens every night from October 23 to 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. Additional time slots will be available on select nights from 7 to 10 p.m.
For the safety of guests, staff, volunteers, and animals, the zoo will be following its COVID-19 guidelines during each night of Spooktacular. This includes a one-way directional route through the event, handwashing and sanitizing stations, group limits of 10 or less, six feet of physical distancing between groups, and cashless transactions. Trick-or-treaters will now find candy throughout the event, expanding beyond the traditional Candy Trail to provide more space.
Children and adults are encouraged to dress up in their family-friendly costumes to enjoy the winding pathways of themed decorations and participate in the virtual costume contest. Guests should beware of prehistoric creatures on the prowl. Dinosauria awaits for all who seek a hair-raising adventure through the wooded path. Listen closely for the roars and shaking leaves around every corner and watch out for the Tyrannosaurus rex.
The Great Lawn will feature a maze for little goblins to traverse and chilling ghost stories will be heard in the Range of the Jaguar exhibit. Themed Spooktacular treats will be available to satisfy the frightening hunger and thirst of kids and adults alike.
Tickets are available online only and are $12 for members and $15 for the public. Children 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket. Admission includes free parking, Dinosauria, and the Wildlife Carousel for those 12 and under.
