I grew up in a home where music, art and literature were a central focus. My mother was a writer, artist and musician who sang and played guitar in clubs in Atlanta when I was small. My father was a record collector and I have his Dave Brubeck, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot and Simon and Garfunkel albums in my vinyl collection today. I studied piano, sang in choral groups, performed in community theater, and worked in a variety of visual arts media through high school.
The Conversation: Hope McMath
If you’ve ever met Hope McMath, you were likely struck by her elegance, and her way with words. And if you spent some time talking to her, you might also have noticed her strength and her fighting spirit. She has this super hero energy about her, which is something I have always admired. She uses her voice for the greater good. She speaks for people who don’t yet have a platform and she is on a mission to bring the arts to all people.
