Jennifer J. L. Jones, (b. 1971 in Alexandria, Virginia), is an acclaimed American artist whose artwork captivates international audiences with her exploration of beauty and energy. Raised in the historic, coastal tidewater region of Virginia and beneath the rocket-lit skies of Florida’s Space Coast, Jones creates contemporary paintings that echo the grounded rhythms of nature and the boundless wonder of discovery. Her work weaves layered abstraction with refined glazing, building luminous, organic patinas that echo memory, emotion, and place. Her transcendent, colorful compositions unfold with shifting elegance and bold execution, inviting viewers into a dialogue between earth and sky, history and possibility.
Jones earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago in December 1993.Throughout her distinguished career, Jones has exhibited her work in renowned galleries across the United States and internationally. Her art has been showcased in esteemed fine art fairs such as the Affordable Art Fair in London, and Art Wynwood in Miami. The Jacksonville International Airport has also featured her work in its cultural gallery.
Jones’ highly sought-after paintings are part of numerous private and corporate collections worldwide, including those of the Mayo Clinic, and the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal. Her work has been featured in publications such as Modern Luxury Interiors, and Savannah Magazine. Jones has held numerous solo exhibitions in Santa Fe, New Mexico at HKC and Ponte Vedra Beach at Hillary Whitaker Gallery. Her most recent solo exhibition, “Echoes of Elysium,” opened in March 2024 at New River Fine Art in Ft. Lauderdale and she was recently awarded a partial grant for the prestigious Chateau d’Orquevaux Artists Residency in France scheduled for spring 2026.
Based in Beaufort, South Carolina, Jones draws daily inspiration from the natural beauty of her low-country surroundings, where marshlands, centuries-old oaks draped in Spanish moss, and a vibrant tapestry of flora and fauna shape the historic landscape. Current projects include the development of an online mentorship and coaching program, a forthcoming second coffee table book weaving anecdotes and memoir, and plans for a custom-built art studio.
