Ginifer Brinkley discovered her love of art at an early age, and her gifts were nurtured throughout her adolescence at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Primarily self-taught, she worked as a muralist and fine artist for many years, creating custom designs for restaurants, local businesses and homes. She then began transforming reclaimed wood into works of art, and successfully partnered with local store owners from Fernandina to St. Augustine. Recently, she has been exploring heavier abstract pieces with a focus on canvas, fulfilling the need for self-expression through more contemporary works. Brinkley’s professional partnerships have also expanded to include interior designers with whom she fulfills client requests and customizes pieces to scale for home owners. An avid collector of art herself, Brinkley firmly believes that art should be affordable and accessible to all. Opening reception Friday, April 3, 7–9 p.m.
First Street Gallery, 216-B First Street, Neptune Beach, 241-6928.
