Lana Shuttleworth at Chain of Parks

April 21 – May 28

Jacksonville artist Lana Shuttleworth will be the featured speaker for the opening night of Tallahassee’s Chain of Parks Art Festival on April 21, in collaboration with Florida State University. In her presentation, “‘Re-‘… A Prefix for Art and Life,” Shuttleworth will talk about her journey navigating through the art world and give the audience a glimpse into the process of repurposing everyday objects. Widely known for her innovative three-dimensional art featuring recycled materials, Shuttleworth will explore the transformation from reclamation to rediscovery. From gutter to gallery, her work “ignites a desire to recover and re-see beauty around us by reusing, recycling, and revisioning new ways to reduce waste.”

In conjunction with the Chain of Parks Art Festival, Shuttleworth’s art will be featured in LeMoyne Art’s exhibit “Recycled Beauty” from April 21–May 28 in honor of Earth Day.
