Michael Brennan @ The Vault at 1930

oct 13 – 15

Tallahassee-based artist Michael Brennan began creating his own works of art at an early age. His passion for modern art led him to explore the use of collage underlying various painted subjects, including wildlife, aviation, architectural illustration, and advertising composition, among others. Brennan’s process begins with plywood panel construction, collage of vintage text, and technical drawings for aesthetic value, then the piece is layered with a painted image in acrylic, charcoal, oil, pastel, and resin. His large-scale works measure up to six by eight feet.

Brennan was awarded Best in Show at the Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival in Atlanta in 2016. That same year, he was a featured artist at the Louisville Festival of the Arts and received an Award of Distinction at the Gulf Breeze Art Festival. His art has been featured in Churchill Downs Magazine. He has many commissioned pieces to his credit, and has created exclusive interior design for several restaurants, including Chop House on the Bricks in Thomasville, Georgia.

Event, Friday, Oct. 13, 5:30 – 8 p.m. The Vault at 1930, 1930 San Marco Blvd., 398-2890.
