PAM Jam

Thru December 5

PAM Jam is a platform for poets, artists, and musicians to collaborate and showcase their talents. Art galleries and writers’ groups become PAM Jam partners, and participants are paired to create new works. “The rules are … there are no rules,” and what emerges is a story told through multiple creative genres. Some pairs publish books together, some turn a poem into a song, and some continue to collaborate.

Participants can join events and sell their work through partner organizations, which raise funds for scholarships and local charities.

The Jacksonville (JAX) Showcase is on view through October 29 at The Art Center (TAC) in San Marco. Dr. Joe Barton of Admira Dentistry awarded the first scholarship to TAC board member Cookie Davis.

The Ponte Vedra Beach Showcase is on view at the PVB Library through November. Featuring poetry books and journals on sale to benefit PVB Friends of the Library, and performances by Sharon Scholl on piano, rising stars at the Bolles School Su Ertekin-Taner and Ian Peiris, and Jazz Band Teal Cabana Club with Shari Little “the Sax Lady.”

This year’s culminating event will be PAM Jam for Jazz Jam, Sunday, Dec. 5 at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, where you can bid on original PAM Jam poems and artwork to benefit First Coast Cultural Center and their Sound Connections Music Therapy Program. Handbags filled with necessities for the global organization Hopefull Handbags will be collected.
