25th Annual Women Making Waves

MOCA Jacksonville Director Caitlin Doherty

Twenty-five years ago Arbus Magazine began dedicating one issue annually to highlighting some of the area’s most influential and award-winning entrepreneurial, and business, women. This special section continues to serve an important purpose: drawing much deserved attention to the women who change and contribute to our community in myriad ways.

From a Jacksonville environmental firm specializing in wetlands, gopher tortoises and dune restoration (Janet Herrick), to a longtime gallery owner exhibiting the work of regional artists and accelerating their careers (Hillary Tuttle), to a marketing icon whose business just celebrated 30 successful years (Mary Fisher), and more, the variety of careers is wide, but their passion level is consistent. As is their success, which is certainly not by coincidence. Read about them here.

We also get to know, and talk to, Caitlin Doherty, director of MOCA Jacksonville, as well as Joy Young the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville’s new executive director.

As we continue to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Arbus Magazine this year, we congratulate and celebrate women making waves in Jacksonville.
