Margaret Roseman Visits Jacksonville Watercolor Society

oct 25 – nov 28

Margaret Roseman, the instructor for the Jacksonville Watercolor Society’s fall workshop, and juror for the group’s fall show, is a founder, lifetime director and signature member of the Toronto Watercolour Society. Roseman, a popular and highly respected art instructor since 1970, has conducted workshops in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and France. An internationally recognized artist and juror, she has participated in numerous group and solo shows with an extensive list of awards to her credit. She has been featured in numerous publications, and is a contributing artist to the North Light publications Painter’s Quick Reference: Flowers and Blooms and Painter’s Quick Reference: Landscapes.

“A painterly approach best describes my personal style of picture making. You might say that it is a blend of impressionism, photo-realism and abstraction,” says Roseman. Rich, vibrant colors and decisive brush strokes characterize her paintings, which often celebrate nature’s unfolding energy and renewal, as well as the ordinary viewed at a special moment in time, interpreting the subject rather than recording it.

JWS Fall Workshop, Oct. 25 – 27, at the Jacksonville Gem & Mineral Society Building, 3733 Crown Point Road, 287-5411. JWS Fall Show, Oct. 29 through Nov. 28 at Westminster Woods River Lounge, 1400 Bishop Estates Road, 540-4040.
