Lian Quan Zhen

“A beautiful painting depicts the harmony between nature and imagination,” says Lian Quan Zhen. Zhen is one of the most sought after watercolor and Chinese painting artists in the US and abroad. The Jacksonville Watercolor Society will host Zhen as a juror for their Spring Show and instructor for a three-day workshop.
After immigrating to the US in 1985, Zhen obtained a BA from UC Berkeley and a Masters of Architecture from MIT. He spent 8 years at the University of California teaching watercolor outdoor sketching; and watercolor and Chinese painting workshops in the US and Internationally.
Zhen’s traditional watercolor and Chinese paintings include flowers, landscapes, and animals such as dogs and cats, birds and butterflies. He has written many books published by Northern Lights, including a coffee table edition titled Chinese Watercolor Journey with Lian Quan Zhen. His paintings are included in the MIT Museum and numerous institutional and private collections.
