March 9 – 23
As part of Bulla Cubana, Thornebrook Gallery’s Point of Entry exhibition features the extraordinary Cuban contemporary visual artist, filmmaker and actor, Jorge Lavoy. In Point of Entry, Lavoy conveys the luminous intensity and saturated colors of his native island with energy and a joyous freedom of application. This is a deeply personal vision: “The imagery and materials I use come from memories and happy places of my childhood, from beach environments,” says Lavoy.

Reception March 8, 6 – 9 p.m. Thornebrook Gallery, 2441 NW 43rd St., Gainesville, (352) 378-4947.
