St. Johns Riverkeeper’s annual Oyster Roast, which provides critical financial support for the continuation of the nonprofit organization’s effective advocacy and education programs for our river, has become one of the most anticipated social events of the year. The 15th annual Oyster Roast will feature delicious food and oysters from Biscottis and Fisherman’s Dock Seafood, music from Cloud 9, and an outstanding silent auction. This year’s featured artist is the renowned Margaret Ross Tolbert. The springs of North Florida are the subject and metaphor of many of her paintings. Tolbert’s painting of catfish circling in Tobacco Patch Spring on the Ocklawaha River captures the theme of the 2016 Roast – the wildlife and ecology of the St. Johns.
